Following that is the moment of denial right after making a mistake when you flail in hopeless pursuit of life's undo button; it's in those moments of poor judgement that we usually turn small setbacks into even bigger ones. Josh was full into that moment when he went to the bathroom to desperately try to shove the thing back in, at which point the crown slipped from his fingers, bounced off the sink, and fell right down the bathtub drain.
Womp WOMP.
The next morning I called every dentist's office in the area with Saturday hours.
The first place:

Nope.
The second:

Ehhh.
Then:

Better...
The next:
$1500
Good god.
Finally I found a place in Glenfield that would do it for $950 and they were nice enough to squeeze us in 5 min before closing for a temporary replacement and fitting for the new crown. I want to say it was a crazy experience that lives up to the name murder house, but it was pretty normal. The doctor was really friendly. He definitely didn't approve of our previous dentist's work though.
A week later, we went back to get the new crown put in. We were running a few minutes late, and when we got to the office the doctor was filling in at reception. This is how we like to imagine it happened:
