There are a lot of birds here. In fact, before people showed up with cows, goats, and sheep there were only birds here. Case in point: I woke up at 5am, convinced my alarm was going off somewhere on the house. At first it didn't occur to me it could be real birds because this wasn't just the casual sound of a few singing; this was an ongoing, show-stopping, can-can chorusing, full on bird musical. Like, the kind where you expect it all to end with tiny top hats and Fred Astaire coming out tap dancing. It was a hard minute before my sleep addled brain processed that the sound was not coming out of my phone, and another 40 minutes before the show moved further down the street and I managed to sort of half-sleep until my actual alarm went off. I should think about picking a new sound.
