In the U.S. signage usually has a bit of an attitude: this is the law. Deal with it.
By contrast New Zealand's signs seem extra concerned about how you're going to take the information written there, making sure to apologize when you've been inconvenienced, thank you when your patience has been tried, guard your safety like a dutiful mother, and warn you if some aspect of the rules might affect your delicate sensibilities. "Please, don't be offended!" is their battle cry. Thanks NZ, for showing us our signs could always be a little nicer. ;) Here are a few the of extra polite signs I've come across so far: |
